Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free, confidential counseling service provided by the District to our regular full time and part time employees and their Households.  The EAP to is designed to support you as you navigate life’s challenges.  They can help with a wide range of concerns, for example : relationships, grief, family problems, teenage struggles,  financial problems, etc. 

Currently the EAP is managed by Blomquist Hale. However, effective January 1, 2026 we will transition to Magellan Healthcare as the new EAP provider.  Magellan has been an Industry leader in employee wellness for over 50 years. Our employees will benefit from their experience, their large provider network, and access to cutting edge technology to help keep your wellness journey on track.   

Blomquist Hale - Coverage Ends 12-31-2025

Blomquist Hale is the District’s current Employee Assistance Program Administrator.  Blomquist Hale has been a partner for many years and they have committed to assisting employees until December 31, 2025.  At that point, the District’s EAP will transition to the new EAP provider. Magellan Health - Coverage Begin January 1, 2026

Following an extensive selection process, Magellan Healthcare was selected to be the District’s new EAP Provider.  Magellan Health has over 50 years of experience administering  Employee Assistance Plans.  They have a large network of providers, and variety of ways to access providers.  They not only have the standard counseling services we are accustomed to, they also provide additional services and cutting edge technology previously unavailable.    

Magellan is first and foremost a counseling service. Most often people seek counseling when they are struggling to cope with challenging circumstances.  For example; life transitions, grief, trauma, marital problems, managing emotions, and parenting skills.  Informational brochures linked below provide additional details regarding the services they provide.

Lucie Chamberlain

Alta View Elementary

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added:  “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
