Reopening Plans for Canyons District As a precautionary measure, Corner Canyon High, which has experienced an increase of positive COVID-19 cases, will remain on a hybrid schedule until Friday, Sept. 25. Students will return to in-person Monday-through-Friday learning until at least Monday, Sept. 28. Canyons District also will begin a data dashboard, including rates of community spread, a range of numbers at each school, and the number of students who have been placed on quarantine. Equity Steering Committee A steering committee examining equity in Canyons District recommends a comprehensive audit of Canyons educational and operational processes. The equity assessment, which would be conducted as part of CSD’s accreditation, would study the District’s allocation of resources; student access to high quality instruction and academic and social-emotional programs and opportunities; school mascots, traditions, and names; availability of early-learning programs for low-income students; public engagement efforts in high-poverty areas; and the governance of CSD’s vision, mission and policies that support equity.

First Day of School Postponed One Week This fall’s first day of school in Canyons District has been pushed back one week. By making a change to the academic calendar for the 2020-2021 school year, members of the Board voted to start school on Aug. 24 instead of Aug. 17.
