Important Notices

Pharmacy Network Change:

The District was notified that Express Scripts will not be renewing its contract with Smith’s/Kroger. This means that, effective Jan. 1, 2023, all pharmacies associated with Smith’s Food and Drug will no longer be in-network providers. Members who use Smith’s/Kroger pharmacies will need to move their prescriptions to other pharmacies. Thankfully, almost all other pharmacies in Utah are covered under the Express Scripts/PEHP partnership. Express Scripts has sent notifications to all members that have been impacted by this decision. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.  Unfortunately, this is beyond the control of PEHP and Canyons School District.

New PEHP Member Numbers and ID cards:

Canyons District’s health insurer PEHP is in the process of implementing a new computer system and migrating member information to the new system. The system change will take effect Jan. 1, 2023.  All employees enrolled in PEHP coverage for 2023 will be issued a new member number and sent new PEHP cards in December. Members should use their current PEHP cards until Dec. 31, 2022 and start using the new PEHP cards on Jan. 1, 2023.

Lucie Chamberlain

Alta View Elementary

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added:  “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
