Step-by-Step Application Instructions:

General Hiring Process

  • All positions will be posted on our website for a minimum of five days.
  • A candidate’s application will remain active for one year from the date it was received.
  • Applications will then be evaluated and candidates selected to interview.
  • Due to the high volume of applicants for various positions, only those applicants receiving interviews will be contacted, via e-mail, notifying them when the position is filled.

Administrative Positions – District Office

  • Submit a complete District Administrative Application Packet to Human Resources.
  • The applications will then be evaluated and candidates selected to interview.
  • Once a candidate is selected, the District’s Administration will take the recommendation to the Board of Education seeking approval.
  • All new hires require a cleared background check.

Administrator Positions - Schools

  • Administrative Screening Interviews for the 2020-2021 school year will be posted in October 2020.
  • Email a complete School Administrator Application Packet to Paulette Takata in Human Resources and specify your choice of screening dates.  Application packets must be submitted at least seven days prior to date of interview, depending on availability of seats. 
  • Once your School Administrator Application Packet is received a confirmation will be sent to you via email to confirm the screening interview date.
  • Complete an Administrative Screening Interview.  The screening interviews are from 1:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and consists of one-on-one interactions and a writing assignment.
  • ALL applicants will be included in the Administrative Candidate Pool for three years.
  • As the possibilities of openings arise, candidates identified through the screening process will be offered an additional interview.  The interview team will then recommend candidates to the Superintendent for consideration for a particular assignment.
  • Once a candidate has been selected by the Superintendent, a recommendation to the Board of Education will be made.
  • All new hires require a cleared background check through the Utah State Board of Education.
  • Individuals may participate in the Administrative Screening Interview once every three years.  After three years candidates must re-interview in order to be considered for an Administrative position.

Administrator Intern - Schools

  • Email a complete Administrative Intern Application Packet to Paulette Takata in Human Resources.  
  • All new hires require a cleared background check through Utah State Board of Education.
  • Applications are only accepted for posted positions.

Licensed School Personnel Positions (Teachers)

  • Submit an Application to Human Resources using the K12jobspot portal.
  • Complete a Screening Interview. Once your application is received you will be contacted via email to complete a video screening on VidCruiter (if you meet the licensing/job requirements). This interview last approximately 30 minutes.
  • Individuals may only participate in the Certificated School Personnel Screening Interview once every year.
  • Once minimum paperwork qualifications are met, the candidate will be placed in the Subject Area Candidate Pool for what you are qualified to teach.
  • As positions become available, principals will select approximately five (5) candidates from the candidate pool to interview for the position.
  • Once a candidate is selected, and reference checks made, approval will be obtained from Human Resources and the position offered to the individual.
  • All new hires require a cleared background check through Utah State Board of Education.

Licensed Specialist Positions

  • Submit a Licensed Specialist Application to Human Resources.
  • Approximately five (5) candidates from the candidate pool will be selected to interview for the position.
  • Once a candidate is selected, and reference checks made, approval will be obtained from Human Resources and the position offered to the individual.
  • All new hires require a cleared background check through Utah State Board of Education.

  • Submit a Canyons District Head Coach Application and all documentation (an email will be posted on job posting where you need to submit the packet too)
