We are so fortunate for all of the substitute educators and workers who serve our school district.  Thank you for all you do!

New Substitutes:

  1. New substitute teachers are required to complete the STEDi Subskills Course STEDi Training prior to being hired. The cost is $39.95 for the training. Print the diploma when you complete the training.
    1. If you have an active professional educator license or are a retired teacher, the STEDi Subskills Course is NOT required.
  2. Watch all modules of the Critical Policies for substitutes for the current year, print and sign the Critical Policies Read & Sign form.
  3. Fill out an application for the Teacher Substitute position.
    1. Upload the STEDi Substitute Diploma and Critical Policies Read & Sign form to your application.
  4. When your 3 references are complete, Human Resources will contact you to complete your new hire paperwork and fingerprints. You may download the paperwork beforehand by clicking here.
    1.  Bring 2 forms of ID (Driver’s License, Social Security Card and/or a Passport), a voided check for direct deposit, and your Critical Policies Read & Sign Form and STEDi Diploma (if you did not include them with your application).

Returning Substitutes:

All substitutes who wish to return for the 2020-2021 school year are required to complete the following steps:

  1. You may print the Substitute Intent to Return Form OR come to the Substitute Office located at 9361 S. 300 E., Sandy, Utah for a preprinted form to complete.
  2. Watch all modules for the current year Substitute Critical Policies and sign the Critical Policies Read & Sign form
  3. Both forms are to be completed, signed, and submitted to the District Substitute Office.

New Substitutes:

  1. Submit an Emergency Substitute application by clicking here.
    1. You must put 3 references on your application to move forward with the next steps.
  2. Watch all modules of the Critical Policies for substitutes for the current year.
    1. Print and sign the Critical Policies Read & Sign form,
  3. When your 3 references are complete, Human Resources will contact you to complete your new hire paperwork and fingerprints. You may download the paperwork beforehand by clicking here.
    1.  Bring 2 forms of ID (Driver’s License, Social Security Card and/or a Passport), a voided check for direct deposit and your Critical Policies Read & Sign Form.

Returning Substitutes:

All substitutes who wish to return for the 2020-2021 school year are required to complete the following steps:

  1. Print the Substitute Intent to Return Form OR come to the Substitute Office located at 9361 S. 300 E., Sandy, Utah to complete the form in person
  2. Watch all modules for the current year Substitute Critical Policies and sign the Critical Policies Read & Sign form
  3. Both forms are to be completed, signed, and submitted to the District Substitute Office in Human Resources either in person or emailed to melanie.messam@canyonsdistrict.org.

New Substitutes:

  1. Submit an application for the Substitute Bus Driver position by clicking here.
    1. The nutrition department will contact you once your 3 references are successfully submitted their responses.
  2. When your hire has been approved, you need complete your new hire paperwork and fingerprints with Human Resources. You may download the paperwork beforehand by clicking here.
    1.  Bring 2 forms of ID (Driver’s License, Social Security Card and/or a Passport), and a voided check for direct deposit.
  3. You will review and submit your Substitute Critical Policies with the Transportation Department.

Returning Substitutes:

All substitutes who wish to return for the 2020-2021 school year are required to complete the following steps:

  2. You will review Substitute Critical Policies at the Transportation Department and the Critical Policies Read & Sign form will be turned in there.

    1. The nutrition department will contact you once your 3 references are successfully submitted their responses.
  2. When your hire has been approved, you need complete your new hire paperwork and fingerprints with Human Resources. You may download the paperwork beforehand by clicking here.
    1.  Bring 2 forms of ID (Driver’s License, Social Security Card and/or a Passport), a voided check for direct deposit, and food handler’s permit.
  3. You will review and submit your Substitute Critical Policies with the Nutrition Department.

Returning Substitutes:

All substitutes who wish to return for the 2020-2021 school year are required to complete the following steps:

  1. You may print the Substitute Intent to Return Form OR come to the Substitute Office located at 9361 S. 300 E., Sandy, Utah for a preprinted form to complete.
  2. You will review Substitute Critical Policies at the Transportation Department and the Critical Policies Read & Sign form will be turned in there.
