10th Day Long Term

On the 10th consecutive day of the same assignment, an extra $15 stipend is paid retroactive to the 1st day.

On the 33rd consecutive day of the same assignment, an additional $55 is paid retroactive to the 1st day for a total of $70/per day.

- Regular or Licensed Substitute Teachers, Preschool Teachers, Administrators
New Substitutes:
Substitutes ages 18+ are eligible to substitute in Elementary and Middle Schools.
Substitutes ages 20+ are eligible to work in all CSD schools.
- Before you can begin work, New substitute teachers are required to complete the STEDi Subskills Course STEDi Training. The cost is $39.95 for the training. Print the diploma and upload it to your application in Step 4.
- The STEDi Subskills Course is NOT required if you have an active or expired professional educator license or for current Canyons District student teachers.
- Associate or APT licenses do not count as a professional educator license
- The STEDi Subskills Course is NOT required if you have an active or expired professional educator license or for current Canyons District student teachers.
- Watch all 3 videos for Substitute critical policies and fill out the read and sign form. Upload completed read and sign form to your application in step 4.
- Create an account and watch the Human Trafficking Prevention Training, save the completion certificate to your computer or phone to upload to your application in step 4.
- Fill out an application for the Teacher Substitute position and upload the STEDi Substitute Diploma (or teaching license) and Critical Policies Read & Sign form to your application (at the top of the page that says “Resume & Other File upload)
- When your 3 references have responded and you have successfully completed the trainings from steps 1, 2, & 3, you will receive an email to complete new hire paperwork and fingerprints in the Human Resources department.
- Bring 2 forms of ID (Driver’s License, Social Security Card and/or a Passport) and a voided check/or bank direct deposit form with your routing and account number for direct deposit.
Returning Substitutes:
All substitutes who wish to return for the 2022-23 school year are required to complete the following steps:
- Print and sign the 2022-23 Intent to Return Form.
- Watch all 3 videos for Substitute critical policies, print the read and sign form and fill out each section as you watch the videos.
- Create an account and watch the Human Trafficking Prevention Training, save the completion certificate to your computer or phone to upload to your application in step 4.
- Submit all documents from steps 1, 2, & 3 to Melanie Messam in Human Resources either in person or email: melanie.messam@canyonsdistrict.org
- After all documents are received, your Frontline profile will be reactivated for the new school year.
- Emergency Substitutes
New Substitutes:

- Submit an Emergency Substitute application.
- When your 3 references have responded and you have successfully completed the trainings from steps 1 & 2, you will receive an email to complete new hire paperwork and fingerprints in the Human Resources department.
- Bring 2 forms of ID (Driver’s License, Social Security Card and/or a Passport) and a voided check/or bank direct deposit form with your routing and account number for direct deposit.
Returning Substitutes:
All substitutes who wish to return for the 2022-23 school year are required to complete the following steps:

- Substitute Bus Drivers
New Substitutes:
- Submit an application for the Substitute Bus Driver position.
- The transportation department will contact you once your 3 references have successfully submitted their responses.
- After Transportation has approved your hire, complete your new hire paperwork and fingerprints with the Human Resources Department.
- Bring 2 forms of ID (Driver’s License, Social Security Card and/or a Passport) and a voided check/or bank direct deposit form with your routing and account number for direct deposit.
Returning Substitutes:
All substitutes who wish to return for the 2022-23 school year are required to complete the following steps:
- Call or email Pam Sorensen in the Transportation Department at 801-826-5251 or pamela.sorensen@canyonsdistrict.org to inform them you would like to return.
- You will not be approved to return for the 2022-23 school year until step 1 is completed.
- Substitute Nutrition Workers
New Substitutes:
- Submit an application for the Nutrition Substitute position.
- The nutrition department will contact you once your 3 references have successfully submitted their responses.
- After the Nutrition department has approved your hire, complete your new hire paperwork and fingerprints with Human Resources department.
- Bring 2 forms of ID (Driver’s License, Social Security Card and/or a Passport) and a voided check/or bank direct deposit form with your routing and account number for direct deposit.
Returning Substitutes:
All substitutes who wish to return for the 2022-23 school year are required to complete the following steps:
