Water Conservation Efforts
- Custodial/Grounds Services is following and enforcing the guidelines set by Governor Cox.
- We have raised our mower deck height to 4 inches. Keeping the sod longer will help retain moisture.
- We utilize Smart Clocks to determine our water run times based on temperature, wind, humidity evaporation rate, and type sprinkler heads and nozzles. Water times vary from day to day, as necessary to maintain healthy turf.
- Facility Managers walk their fields daily, looking for problem areas.
- We actively watch for new guidelines and restrictions from city, county and state leaders.
- We use a slow-release fertilizer to help control growth while keeping the turf healthy.
- We utilize core aeration on all non-sports fields and deep tine aeration on all sports fields, at least twice a year.
