Policy 600.19 Exhibit 1 – Statewide Assessment Exhibit – Participation Costs for Private and Home School Students

  1. The District will not require individual private school students to pay for the cost of production or administration of statewide assessments when the private school students lives within Canyons School District boundaries.
  2. If a private school approaches the District with more than one (1) private school student for testing, the Superintendent or designee reserves the right to review the cost of production of test materials and test administration to determine reasonable costs, and determine whether to collect those costs.
  3. In accordance with R277-604, the District will not charge home school student to pay a fee that is not charged to traditional students.
  4. The parent or legal guardian of a home school or private school student will need to provide a minimum set of student information to allow the district to “enroll” the student into the online testing platform. This minimum set of student information will be determined by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE).
