Administrative Appointments Approved by Board of Education

Canyons District is pleased to announce new administrative appointments, which were approved by the Board of Education on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.   Kenna Sorensen, currently the Principal of East Sandy Elementary, will become an administrator in the Instructional Supports Department. This position was created when Dr. Darren Draper, the Director of Education Technology, resigned to accept a position in the Alpine District. East Midvale Elementary Celebrated 50th Birthday In Style

East Midvale Elementary had a big birthday to recognize at the annual PTA fundraising carnival this year. On its recent 50th anniversary, the school has a lot to celebrate. Flying saucers, anyone? CSD Student Recipe Contest submissions are in, and the winning delectables are sure to delight in CSD lunchrooms this month. CSD Recipe Contest, open to students as part of National Nutrition Month, aimed to involved students more in the planning of school meals. The CSD Recipe committee of kitchen managers and Nutrition Services leaders narrowed the list for a final round of taste-testing. From there, three were named winners. 14 CSD Schools Earn Healthier US School Challenge Awards

Feeding elementary school kids is a tricky business – especially when it comes to teaching students about nutrition, encouraging physical activity and serving healthy, delicious drinks and meals that even picky eaters won’t refuse.
