Donations Needed: An Opportunity to Lend a Helping Hand at a Distance

From glue sticks to rulers, backpacks and more, the list of supplies students need to return to school can be long. This year more than ever, families in Canyons School District experiencing financial hardship may be relying on donations to provide the tools their students need to attend school.  To that end, Canyons School District is participating in the fourth annual Z104 Tools for Schools donation drive, sponsored by Jordan Credit Union, to gather supplies, food, and essentials for students. Larry H. Miller Charities Brings Holiday Cheer to CSD Students

Christmas came early to the Canyons Education Foundation with a $20,000 donation from Larry H. Miller Charities, the nonprofit arm of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. The money will fund a Sub-for-Santa effort benefitting students in every corner of the District. “We have pockets of need throughout our District, and this generous donation will make it possible for schools to assist families in making the holiday season truly special for students in need,” said Foundation Officer Denise Haycock. Record number of Canyons teachers receive grants from Canyons Education Foundation

From cow eyes to a glockenspiel, rock samples and microscopes, 33 teachers from all corners of Canyons School District received funds to purchase new tools and technology to bolster their classroom instruction. The new equipment is made possible through Innovation Grants distributed to teachers recently by the Canyons Education Foundation in surprise classroom visits at 18 CSD schools. CSD Foundation Gives $10,000 to Help Cover College-Application Fees During UCAW

Quite literally, every drive down the fairways at the recent 10th annual golf tournament of the Canyons Education Foundation was done for a great cause: supporting Canyons District’s mission of ensuring the college-readiness of every student enrolled in a Canyons school.
