Too often, students leave high school unsure how their learning connects to their future. At the same time, employers struggle to find talent with both the technical and human skills that make teams thrive. The Canyons Innovation Center is designed to close that gap—connecting students to authentic work and professional mentors that translate into real opportunity. This is not a traditional school. It is a profession-based learning environment where students learn by doing: collaborating, problem-solving, and building the confidence that comes from producing work that matters.
The Canyons Innovation Center will serve nearly 4,000 students annually. Existing CTEC programs will relocate to the Center, and new programs will be added to meet emerging workforce needs. All students learn leadership, design-thinking, and presentation skills. Every course is built so students learn the skills and standards employers actually use.
— Reid Newey, Director Canyons Innovation Center
The Canyons Innovation Center is guided by an advisory board of leaders from industry and higher education. Board members, and our industry partners, ensure programs stay aligned to workforce needs—advising on curriculum, equipment, and the design of learning spaces. They mentor students and bring portfolio-building projects to the table so students graduate ready for what’s next.
Bring projects, mentors, and professional context into the student experience. Partner opportunities include project briefs, mentoring, workplace visits, curriculum and equipment guidance, and internships.
Explore programs, enrollment, and pathways that lead to high-demand careers—while building a portfolio and earning credentials along the way.
Support student opportunity through sponsorships, scholarships, and program investments that expand access to hands-on learning.

Profession-based learning built with industry and higher education partners.

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added: “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
