School’s out!  To help kick off a summer of family fun, Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals are hosting special nights for the Canyons District community.

Canyons District Night with Real Salt Lake will be Saturday, June 14 and CSD’s Night with the Utah Royals is scheduled for June 21.

Discount tickets for CSD’s Night with Salt Lake can be purchased here.

Fans can cheer on Alta High graduate and Utah Royals star Brecken Mozingo at the June 21 game by purchasing discounted tickets here.

Following a long-standing tradition, Canyons’ 48 Teachers of the Year will be honored on the field during the June 14 game against D.C. United.

Midvale Elementary Spanish-English Dual Language Immersion teacher Lucia de la Cruz Rodriguez is Canyons District’s 2025 Teacher of the Year.

As the District’s top teacher for the year, she received a $1,000 cash prize from the Canyons Education Foundation, as well as other gifts and prizes. She also will be Canyons’ representative in the 2025 Utah Teacher of the Year selection process, which is part of the National Teacher of the Year competition.

Each of CSD’s Teachers of the Year also were given two complimentary tickets to the June 14 game.

Tickets for the Real game, as well as the Royals-vs.-Seattle Reign matchup, are at a discounted rate so the stadium can be filled with our Canyons community. Tickets are as low as $13 and $28.

Lucie Chamberlain

Alta View Elementary

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added:  “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
