Canyons Announces 2025-2026 Administrative Appointments, Assignments

The Canyons Board of Education and Administration are pleased to announce the following administrative appointments and assignments:

Matt Nelson, currently the Principal at East Midvale Elementary, will transition to serve as Principal at Jordan Valley School. He replaces Stacey Nofsinger who is transitioning to Life Skills Academy to serve as Principal.

Filling Matt Nelson’s post will be Amy Sandgren who is currently the Assistant Principal at Midvalley Elementary.

Sara Caldwell, currently an assistant principal at Midvale Elementary will transfer to serve as Assistant Principal at Altara Elementary.

Wesley Morgan, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Alta View Elementary.

Scott Taylor, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Crescent Elementary. He replaces Kimberly Ranney, who has been promoted to Principal at Oak Hollow Elementary.

Rebecca Bass, currently serving as an assistant principal at Corner Canyon High, will serve as an assistant principal at Draper Elementary.

Rachel Ostvig, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Lone Peak Elementary.

Noemi Jones, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Midvalley Elementary. She replaces Amy Sandgren, who is being promoted to Principal at East Midvale Elementary.

Mike Larsen, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Peruvian Park Elementary.

Anna Livingston, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Sprucewood Elementary.  She replaces Ashley Lennox who has been promoted to Principal at Sprucewood Elementary.

Ivie Erickson, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Sunrise Elementary.

Amber Rock, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Willow Springs Elementary.

Amy Brown, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Midvale Elementary. She replaces Sara Caldwell who is transferring to serve as Assistant Principal at Altara Elementary.

Crystal Connors, who is currently serving as an assistant principal at Mount Jordan Middle, will transfer to serve as the Assistant Principal at Ridgecrest Elementary.

Amanda Parker, who is currently serving as an assistant principal at Albion Middle, will transfer to serve as an assistant principal at Mount Jordan Middle.

Alisha Wheeler, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Albion Middle.

Karlie Aardema, who is currently serving as an assistant principal at Indian Hills Middle, will transfer to serve as an assistant principal at Union Middle.

Tonya Rauch, who was previously announced as a new assistant principal hire, will be assigned to Indian Hills Middle.

Taylor Andersen, who is currently serving as an assistant principal at Corner Canyon High will transfer to serve as an assistant principal at Brighton High.

Katie Campbell, who is currently an assistant principal at Hillcrest High, will transfer to serve as an assistant principal at Corner Canyon High.

Sally Williams, who is currently serving as the Secondary Health & PE Specialist in the Instructional Supports Department, will be promoted to Assistant Principal at Corner Canyon High.

Lucie Chamberlain

Alta View Elementary

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added:  “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
