Ten CSD schools are winners in the 2013 President’s Education Awards Program, which recognizes achievement and hard work in the classroom.

Butler, Crescent, Oakdale, Park Lane, Quail Hollow, Ridgecrest, Sprucewood and Sunrise elementary schools, and Crescent View and Mount Jordan middle schools have all won awards.

The U.S. Department of Education announced the honor was given to three million students from more than 30,000 public and private schools from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.

The award includes a congratulatory letter and certificate signed by President Barack Obama, the Secretary of Education and the school principal.
