Two Canyons District students are anxiously waiting to find out if they’ll have a college scholarship and a smile.
Hillcrest senior Nikos Liodakis and Alta senior Tanner Jones are among 252 students nationwide to be named finalists for the prestigious 2012 Coca-Cola Scholarship.
As such, both students will receive no less than a $10,000 scholarship, and compete to become one of 52 students to receive a $20,000 scholarship during a final round of interviews April 12 in Atlanta.
The pair will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Georgia capital city, where they will join finalists nationwide on tours, in a community service project, and as guests of honor at the annual Coca-Cola Scholars Banquet.
