Individualized Reading Plans
Everything you need to build your IRPs and Student Growth Plans this year.
Start here: the teacher template
One sheet holds your roster, both IRP tabs, and both SGP tabs. Make your own copy, then rename it with your name and grade.
Open the IRP / SGP Teacher SheetClick Use template at the top right to make your copy. Don't work in the original.
Watch these three
1. Getting your sheet set up
Copy the template, rename it, allow access, and enter your roster.
2. Filling out the IRP
Pick the Acadience measure, let the plan autofill, and choose your support setting.
3. Exporting and printing
Export the tab as a CSV and get your parent copies printed.
Questions teachers ask
Which students need an IRP?
Any student whose Acadience benchmark data shows they are below or well below benchmark. Your coach can help you confirm your list.
What do the colors in the sheet mean?
- Blue header means you type it.
- Light blue means you pick from a dropdown.
- Gold fills itself. Leave it alone.
Do I have to type the intervention language for every student?
No. Pick the Acadience measure in column G and the prioritized skill fills in. From that skill, the school targeted support, monitoring, and family targeted support all fill themselves with district language. The only column that is choose-all-that-apply is Targeted Support Setting.
The sheet asked me to allow access. Is that normal?
Yes. The first time you open your copy, click the red box on the instructions tab and click Allow. It turns green once it's connected.
Can I rename tabs or move columns around?
No. The CSV export and the school master sheet both depend on the column order. Renaming or reordering breaks them.
What about my students with IEPs or who are multilingual learners?
Use the ML and IEP Considerations tab at the bottom of the sheet. It walks through how those plans work alongside the IRP.
How do I get the parent copies printed?
Export the tab you need as a CSV, email it to your building admin assistant, and upload it to the printing site to generate the PDFs.
What's the difference between the IRP and the SGP?
The IRP is the Individualized Reading Plan, built from Acadience data for students below benchmark in reading. The SGP is the Student Growth Plan, which covers learning skills and growth goals you review with families at conferences. Both live in the same sheet, with fall and winter tabs for each.
Still stuck?
Talk to your school coach. They know your building's timeline, they can look at the sheet with you, and they'd rather help now than fix it later.
