2024 Jordan High Graduate Diving Into Division One Swimming for BYU

Diving into the pool is one of Robert Barton’s favorite things. It’s that first initial contact that wakes him up and gets him ready to compete, whether for Jordan High School or for his U.S.A. Club Team. “I have two older sisters and my parents put them into swim when they were pretty young,” says […]

Life Lessons, Empathy Key for 2024 Jordan High Graduate

High school can be daunting and sometimes students may feel like they wont make it to graduation for one reason or another. It’s how they learn from struggles and hardships and take those lessons, turning them into new pathways. “There were so many points throughout my high school career where I didn’t think I’d make […]

Corner Canyon’s Brody Kozlowski Leads On and Off the Court

Brody Kozlowski’s name is synonymous with basketball. Corner Canyon’s 6-foot-7 four-star recruit is a two-time Utah 6A Player of the Year, an Adidas All American, and McDonald’s All American Nominee. Courted by schools like Stanford, UCLA, and the University of Utah, he initially chose USC before committing to Brigham Young University where his mother, Kristen […]

‘All the World’s a Stage’ for this 2024 Jordan High Grad

While performing on the stage is where Jordan High’s Parker Bettinson feels most at home, he says owning your role and nailing your lines doesn’t happen by accident. “The true magic happens behind the scenes when you put in the hard work,” says Bettinson who will now apply that work ethic to his studies at […]

Sophia Mun Celebrates Music, Giving Back As She Steps Into Her Future

Sophia Mun is the kind of person who is driven to excel, but improves herself by doing better for others. In fact, if you ask the Hillcrest High senior to reflect on her goals and accomplishments, she’ll start by mentioning the $22,000 she and her fellow Student Body Officers raised for the Husky’s food pantry […]

Corner Canyon Graduate Takes Rooke in Game of Life

Theoretical physicist and Nobel Laureate Richard Fynman once compared discovering the laws of physics to learning the rules of chess merely by observing a chess game. “You don’t know the rules of the game, but you’re allowed to look at the board from time to time, in a little corner, perhaps. And from these observations, […]

Lucie Chamberlain

Alta View Elementary

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added:  “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
