Eastmont Middle’s Moss Named Runner-up in Utah Teacher of the Year Contest

Shortly after Emma Moss found out Thursday, Oct. 1 that the Utah State Board of Education named her as a runner-up for the 2021 Utah Teacher of the Year award, she had one of those days that is sure to rank as a highlight of her career.   Since Moss was named as the 2020 Canyons Teacher of the Year in April, her students have been anxiously waiting to hear if she would be chosen as a statewide winner. Free Sack Meals to Fuel Friday’s At-Home Learning

Canyons District’s lunch crews remain committed to ensuring all students have uninterrupted access to nutritious meals. Starting Oct. 9, Fridays will be a day for independent, at-home learning for students — and CSD’s Nutrition Services Professionals will make sure they are properly fueled for a full day of study. On Thursdays, school lunchrooms will double the number of meals they normally prepare, adding a sack lunch to the mix for students to take home and enjoy on Friday. All Classes Will Remain Online at Corner Canyon High Until at Least Oct. 16

As a result of the of the number of positive COVID-19 cases associated with the school, coupled with the increase in the community transmission rates, Corner Canyon High students will continue on an online-only learning model until at least Friday, Oct. 16.  The decision to remain all-online at CCHS is in line with a recommendation from the Salt Lake County Health Department.
