What happens when Dual Language Immersion (DLI) students transition from fifth-grade to middle school or from eighth-grade to high school?
Answers to these questions, and more, will be explained as part of CSD’s Annual Orientation for parents of secondary DLI learners. Families can access the virtual Orientation, along with other resources, on 惩教署的在线学习门户Canvas anytime between Monday, Sept. 18, and Friday, Nov. 3, 2023.
On the portal is information from Canyons curriculum specialists about middle and high school courses, including the bridge courses through which students can earn college credit, and the 意图继续过程 that fifth- and eighth grade DLI students are required to complete in order to continue in the program.
An efficient and effective path for learning a world language, DLI starts in the first grade when young minds are developmentally best able to acquire language. The program grows with students, and those who continue with it through middle and high school are setting new expectations for fluency.
