It’s almost All Hallows Eve and Canyons District will soon be alive with the undead.
Ghosts, goblins, vampires, zombies and witches are just a few of the creative costumes that will be donned by our students and employees at parties and parades. Schools also will see more than a few children in Superman, Ironman and Batman costumes. If history is an indication, we’ll also see Barbies and baby dolls, kittens and karate kids.
One of the biggest celebrations in Canyons District is Sandy Elementary’s annual Halloween Parade. Starting at 9 a.m. on Halloween, students, teachers and staff will march up and down Main Street in Historic Sandy. Hundreds are expected to line the sidewalks to watch the spooky spectacle.
On Thursday night, the neighborhoods around CSD schools will be packed with costumed children, scurrying from house to house, reveling in the few short hours of trick and treats. CSD bids the community’s families a safe and happy Halloween. Here are some safety tips to help make sure the evening’s activities don’t end in real-life nightmares.
