Superintendent Search Update
Superintendent Search Consultants Rickie McCandless and Claudia Seeley provided an update on their progress in the national search for the new CSD superintendent. The consultants have received inquiries from potential applicants living in 11 states and overseas, McCandless reported. The names and numbers of applicants will not be announced at this time due to the confidentiality promised the applicants, she reported. The consultants are continuing to work closely with the Board on next steps to determine which applicants will be selected for interviews.
The search is on schedule in accordance with the timeline approved by the Board, McCandless reported. The new superintendent is expected to be announced in mid-May.
Last fall, the consultants received input in a series of districtwide stakeholder input meetings scheduled from October – December. The input was used by the Board to create the superintendent job posting. The consultants advertised the position in national publications and Web sites beginning in January 2014. The application deadline was March 3, 2014.
