image If the love of teaching and learning had a face, it would likely look much like Ashley Fricker’s. Ask her about what she has planned for the students in her class — and her eyes sparkle with great expectations. Now in her fourth year of teaching, she came to Canyons largely because of its reputation as a forward-thinking District that placed a heavy emphasis on preparing students for the rigors of college and careers. Fricker says she feels valued in CSD and has been thrilled with the support she’s been provided to help her hone her teaching skills and adopt curriculum proven to increase student achievement. For Fricker and her colleagues in CSD’s 46 schools, Canyons is a welcome home. “Right now,” she says, “there is no better place to be.”
