Seeking Science Fair Judges

Do you work in a science-related field? Did you select science as your college major? Canyons District needs your help!

Canyons community members are needed to serve as volunteer judges in the 2013 District Science Fair. Volunteer judges will have the opportunity not only to view the excellent work and innovations of students, but impact the lives of talented young people. Many Canyons Science Fair winners have advanced to state and national competitions, where they have earned tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships for their outstanding work.

Volunteer judges are needed for the elementary school division on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the Canyons Support Services Center, 9361 S. 300 East. Volunteers also are needed for the secondary school division on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the same location.

Interested? Please fill out the online registration form and volunteer application. All volunteers must pass a criminal background check in accordance with Utah State Law.

Crescent View Middle Teacher Amy Valdez talks to KUTV's Cristina Flores and Heidi Hatch about helping your children with their science fair projects.
